Burlesque me, Baby - UK tour

Tiny town Wales gets sexy - created on 26/02/2013
MAKING a mental leap from bog snorkeling to burlesque isn't easy but then there's something in the water in Llanwrtydd Wells that just makes things happen.
This summer - from May 31 to June 2 - Wales tiniest town, in partnership with Seattle (USA) based company, Burlesque Me, Baby, is organising a unique weekender, especially for the ladies with the help of some local businesses.
Co-ordinator of the event, Bernice Benton, of Cerdyn Villa B&B, said: “It all came about through a chance meeting on Facebook, through a connection made during last year’s World Alternative Games here in Llanwrtyd.
'I got chatting to Blair Hopkins, one of the co-founders of Burlesque Me, Baby! and we thought it would be cool to try and organise the Wales leg of, what will now be, their British Invasion!'
Burlesque Me, Baby specialises in pamper days involving professional hair, make-up and costuming followed by a photo session resulting in an album of up to 20 digital images for each lady which they are welcome to print off for themselves or share with their family and friends!
This part of the weekender has to be limited to 20 participants but the rest of the weekend’s activities are open to the public. These include some sessions of burlesque chair dancing, using tutors from Powys Dance and an evening of live music and fancy dress, ‘50’s style, at Neuadd Arms Hotel.
Blair said: 'We are so excited to be working with Berni and her friends. We can’t wait to get to Mid Wales, try out the real ales and pamper some Welsh babes! I found out that many of my ancestors were Welsh, so I guess I’m coming back to my roots.'
If the weekend works well Llanwrtyd Wells might expect to see lots more glamorous weekends taking place. Lauren Oppelt, Blair’s business partner, suggested: “Maybe next time we can try it in with a bit of bog snorkelling?'
It appears she hasn’t been told what that is yet! Perhaps the organisers in Llanwrtyd might let her into that little secret when she comes over in June!
To get a chance to take part in this exclusive weekend and be one of the lucky 20 ladies to book a makeover, contact Berni on enquiries@cerdynvilla.co.uk / 01591 610635 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 01591 610635 end_of_the_skype_highlighting or info@burlesquemebaby.com. This is fabulous news - I just wish they had added a tour to Spain on the dates!!!!
